ISO (BS ISO 2904 Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with BS ISO 2904 Electro technical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electro technical standardization.
1 Scope
BS ISO 2904 specifies the basic dimensions of ISO metric trapezoidal screw threads in accordance with ISO 2902. The values refer to the design profiles in accordance with ISO 2901.
BS ISO 2904 is chiefly applicable to traversing threads for traversing motion on machines, tools, etc. It can also be used for fastening threads.
